Experience
I covered the Women’s FA Cup Final for The Voice, producing a match report from the stadium and reporting from the mixed zone after the game. I had the opportunity to speak with managers and players following the final whistle, gaining valuable experience of live match reporting, interviewing and working in a fast-paced media environment.
Mansfield Town Football Club Media Assistant
I supported the Head of Media and Social Media team across the club’s media and communications department. My responsibilities included assisting with press-related duties, updating and enhancing the club’s official website and matchday scoreboard, and supporting the department with administrative tasks. The role gave me valuable insight into the day-to-day demands of working in a professional football club’s media team.
Final Whistle Project
I attended the Final Whistle Project, a programme designed to support women looking to break into sports journalism. As part of the programme, we pitched a sports feature reflecting on the previous six months and received expert feedback on developing and refining our ideas, with the opportunity to have our work commissioned for the next edition of the magazine.
Bloomberg Journalism Programm
I was selected for a five-day program focused on business and financial journalism, where I developed my understanding of financial reporting and the ‘Bloomberg Way’ of journalism. The program provided insight into how journalists identify and report business stories, interpret financial information and produce accurate, engaging news under tight deadlines. It also broadened my perspective on the role of business and finance in shaping the wider news agenda.
